Bal Mandir Senior Secondary School, Kishanganj, a unique Co-educational English medium school, got its incipience in 1973 as a model Montessori institution and with the tireless efforts and unstained zeal of the people at the helm of its affairs, it got the status of a High School in 1983. A sprawling campus with all that, ideal education requisitioned, this school soon enlightened guardians and students and every year mushroom, number of students quench their thirst of learning from this institution. It was at the backdrop of such manifest performances of this school with a team of dedicated but expert teachers and ever cautious management that this school got its affiliation with the C.B.S.E., Delhi in 1989 and was later, upgraded as a Senior Secondary School also in this educationally neglected part of Bihar.

Today BalMandir Senior Secondary School imparting education upto the XII standard (Commerce & Science Stream) is indeed the most prestigious institution of the Kosi region, pioneering standard education and catering to the needs of thousands and thousands of poor guardians willing but financially restrained to opt for the school situated and around the hill regions.

This educational institution though runs under a Trust viz Bal Mandir School Trust is duly supervised by a Managing Committee. Special thrust is given on the promotion of national integration and social homogeneity. Further it strives for the development of the people of all the castes, sects and creed that synthesize the social fabric of India.
